Here is a list of 6 vehicle services that should be performed regularly, they will help increase the life of your engine.

1- Change the oil every 3000 mile (5000 miles if it is a diesel engine).

2- Change the coolant every 2 years.

3- Change the brake fluid every 3 years.

4- Change transmission fluid every 30k miles.

5- Perform scheduled maintenance every 15k, 30k, 60k, 90k miles.

6- Have an inspection performed EVERY visit! This will help find potential problems before they happen.

Did you know May is National Military Appreciation Month?

This is a great time to honor all of the men and women that put their lives on the line to keep our country safe! One way to show our appreciation is to donate old cell phones to the Cell Phones for Soldiers program. This program collects old cell phones and recycles them. They take that money and purchase pre-paid calling cards that are distributed to  our troops.

Donating your old phones will provide much needed calls home. The Cell Phones for Soldiers program was able to provide over 41 million minutes of talk time to deployed and returning military members in 2011. Let's help them exceed last year's minutes!
Gather up your old cell phones and donate them to this great program.

All you need to do is bring your gently used cell phones into Broadway Ford. We have a drop box just inside our front door for your convenience. We will take care of shipping them off.

Donate your phones today. You will be helping our troops and their families stay in touch!
It's a simple thing we can do that makes a very big difference!

Driving the 2012 Ford F150

Matt Eichner with the Idaho Falls Post Register contacted us to test drive a Ford vehicle. Matt test drives different vehicles and writes articles about them to publish in the Post Register's Auto Week section. We were excited to show him our Fords and hear what he had to say!  We sent him out to drive the 2012 Ford F-150 Platinum Edition.

The following is the article he wrote.

You will also be able to read this article in this Sunday's Auto Week section of the Post Register.

Stop by and take an F-150 for a ride. We think you will love it too!

Be sure to let us know what you think!

Five Tips to Extend the Life of Your Car

Did you know that 68% of drivers say they plan on driving their car 150,000 miles or more? We at Broadway Ford have some tips to help keep your vehicle running well into it's golden years.

1 - Keep up with the manufacturers recommended oil changes...every 3000 to 5000 miles. You should check your owners manual for what is recommended for your vehicle. Higher mileage vehicles need service more than ever!

2 - Take your commutes a little slower. The difference between driving 50mph and 70mph means your car is working twice as hard. Driving just a little bit slower will improve your gas mileage, reduce wear on your brakes from slowing and stopping, and prolong the life of your engine.

3- Take care of you tires. Keep them rotated, inflated and properly maintained. Properly inflation improves gas mileage and means less work for an aging engine. Be sure to prolong the life of your tires by having them rotated and balanced every other oil change.

4 - If your vehicle is equipped with a timing belt, you'll want to replace it at the recommended time (60,000 miles for most vehicles, refer to your owner manual). An aging timing belt can cause serious damage to your engine.

5- Don't neglect the outside of your car. Washing and waxing don't just preserve your shining finish, they also help keep your vehicle from rusting. That is good for everything under the surface too!

Follow these five simple steps and you and your car could spend many happy miles together!
